Offhand 3/4 inch groups. Whew. I'm out of my league here. I can't even run a welder offhand I have to steady my wrist. Let alone shoot.
That is good shootin.

Keep in mind, 25yds 22lr.

BUT this is after you can engage a 1" dot @ 25yds for 10 rounds. Not just once but at will.

:)

That is awesome shooting. I just can't do squat without a rest. How do you learn to hold steady without shaking?

I have a bad nervous problem. I can not do any shooting offhand at much distance at all.

Sir,

Let me tell you something.

I have a bad back, that will let me do positional for a time period, but dear god do I pay for it the next day!!!!!!!

If you have a limiting challenge like you describe, I say screw it no off hand for you.

The key here is to do the best you can do with what god has given you. If offhand is out of the picture, try kneeling or sitting. If that does not work fine. You are limited to prone and bench shooting.

I have no problem with anyone that is practicing there best with what they have to work with.

If you want to practice offhand anyhow, go get you a mono-poll type rest and go at it for that.

no shame it that.

You are right. I would love to find a way to overcome the "shakes" so I can do off hand but for now I really don't even try to practice it. Bipod for everything. I have the one that goes all the way up to sitting position.

I'm pretty estatic at the moment, in a day or so I'll go pick up a loaner rifle. Just thinking about it makes me smile!

Looking to start with bench at ~100 yards to make sure the trigger, breathing, follow-through, etc are good. Then move to the various positions before extending the range out. That should keep me occupied for a while, at least. I'd like to get out to 600 yards but may have to do a reduced target since the range only has 425. :)

Thoughts?

Leam
